New Project Started!!!

I was feeling in a slump. I had finished a few projects that were lingering. I was so excited to get them done but then afterwards it was like "now what"? What do I make? I received new issues of crochet magazines and had several new crochet books I purchased not to mention patterns of skirts I purchased. Nothing jumped out at me that I really wanted to make.
I decided to try again on the charity daisy square (so cute) - yet again. The link to her website: http://krochetkrystal.blogspot.com/. I requested the help file so hopefully, I'll be able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. My goal is to have 2 squares in the mail by the end of September!

The new project I started is from the book, Positively Crochet. There are a lot of nice patterns in the book and I enjoy reading the positive notes in the book. I'm making the tangerine top, except it won't be tangerine. It's coming out fine so far. I'll write more about my journey when I'm finish with the top. Here's a link to the book in case anyone is interested. http://www.amazon.com/Positively-Crochet-Mary-Jane-Hall/dp/0896895173/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-4212762-3272948?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190143688&sr=1-1

Hi,I just wanted to let you know I am the author of Positively Crochet and I am thrilled that you like my book! I have a google alert that lets me know when my name or book is mentioned on the web, so it brought me to your blog. I also want to say that if you have any questions on the Tangerine Top you are making, please let me know! One of my 16 year old pattern testers tested the pattern for me and I think she had 1 minor question. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for spreading the word on my book, and I am so glad the positive tips are meaningful to you. That means the world to me:) If you bought the book on Amazon, and if you have time maybe you could give it a review? Most have been good (5 stars) but there are 2 negative ones and it would help to have more positive reviews! Thanks again. Please let me know if you need any help with the pattern. Your daughter is adorable!

maryjane: how thrilling to have the author herself write in my blog! Thank you. It is a great book and I did purchase it from Amazon and I will rate it! I'm very particular about crochet books...and I love your book, Postively Crochet. LOVE, LOVE all the positive messages in there and there are several items in there that I want to make. (I'm also working on the simple shrug too!). I was going to email you to see if I could use the photo from the tangerine top but I figure you'd be too busy so imagine my surprise to hear from you! So far the top is coming out good. I'm working on the sleeves and I will be starting the bottom of the sleeves w/ the bobbles. It's great to know that if I need help, you'll answer my questions!
Thanks again and I'm so thrilled to hear from you. Great book. :D

Hi again! I just wanted to say "thanks a million!" for the awesome review you gave me on Amazon!!!! It means a lot to me coming from someone who is so picky about crochet patterns. I will be happy to answer any of your questions about any of the patterns. My email is maryjanehall@gmail.com I'm very busy working on another book that is due in less than 3 weeks, but I'll take the time to help if you need it. So far I've found only minor errors in the book and I'm looking so we can do revisions for the second printing. Please let me know if you have any concerns.
I think it's fine if you want to use the picture of the top. I even have my own photos of all my designs if you ever want to see them or the ones my pattern testers made. One of my 16 year old pattern testers tested the Tangerine Top in blue. Are you using the TLC Cotton Plus?

I don't have any questions on either pattern, both are going good!
